Namaste! I am a certified teacher of yoga for over 20 years now, the last 10 years teaching in Fort Collins, Colorado, my home town.
Currently, I provide private adaptive yoga support for people with special needs and movement disorders. I also teach classes in traditional Hatha yoga and adaptive yoga classes for various populations with special needs. In addition to this, I am now also a Certified End Of Life Doula supporting people and their loved ones through the end of life process.
For over 7 years, I have led weekly classes for people with Parkinson's Disease contracted by PAR and PSGLC. I am also the instructor of Adaptive Yoga with the City of Fort Collins Rec Dept. (see Adaptive Yoga for MS). I have worked with the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC) and hold sessions throughout the year for people with traumatic brain injuries.
In 1992 I earned my degree in Kinesiology at CU Boulder. After that, I worked on cruise ships as a Sports & Fitness coordinator. I was a certified Personal Trainer and Aerobics Instructor in various health clubs. And for three years I was a Rec Therapist at an inpatient rehab center.
I fell in love with yoga in my mid-twenties and became certified to teach through the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in 1998-1999. In 2000 I lived at the Himalayan Institute, where I deepened my raja yoga practice and studied the science of Ayurveda. Since then I have traveled widely, had two children, built a thriving business, presented in many trainings and workshops and completed 300 hours of Advanced Yoga Teacher credentials.
I am a highly intuitive and passionate instructor. My classes are fun, holistic and focus on the compassionate heart, functional movement and mindful awareness and that is necessary to live well- in body, mind and spirit.
